Phase II: Site Investigations

EMS can undertake intrusive site investigations tailor made to your requirements. From complex, historically contaminative sites, to small scale residential property redevelopment, we strive to produce the most cost-effective strategy to fulfill the requirements as set down in the extensive government guidance.

Investigatory methods include:

  • Exploratory trial pitting utilising a range of hydraulic excavators
  • Hand pitting or hand augering where access is severely restricted, or the site is sensitive (e.g. graveyards)
  • Dynamic window sampling
  • Shelling augar
  • Rotary boreholing through bedrock
  • Non-invasive testing
  • Soil testing and installation of monitoring wells for groundwater and ground gas (if necessary) can be undertaken concurrently with the investigation, thus saving time and money at a later date. We also offer a wide range of geotechnical services. More information can be found by clicking here.

Chemical analysis of soil and water is undertaken by a MCERTS and UKAS accredited laboratory to ensure full quality of data.
