Ground Gas

Ground gas is a sensitive issue for many redvelopers, residents and land owners due to the potentially catastrophic effects of a gas build up. Ground gas can be associated with many areas including landfill, made ground, alluvium, canals and railways.

EMS aims to make any ground gas investigation suitable to fulfill the requirements of undertaking a risk assessment.

We can

  • Monitor Methane, Carbon Dioxide, Carbon Monoxide, Oxygen and Hydrogen Sulphide
  • Assess the presence of trace compounds, such as hydrogen cyanide
  • Check for volatile organic compounds
  • Determine flow rates
  • Undertake spike investigations and surface monitoring
  • Take readings over a wide range of atmospheric conditions and pressures
  • Provide design of gas protective measures and other remedial options, if required, as defined by the Building Regulations
  • Undertake radon testing
