Phase II: Site Investigations
EMS undertake intrusive site investigations tailor-made to your requirements. Designed in line with the findings of the desk study in order to satisfy the relevant authorities and insurance companies.
All surveys are carried out in accordance with the relevant standards including BS:10175, BS:5930 and the CLR Series. EMS utilise the following investigation methods:
- Exploratory trial pitting utilising a range of hydraulic excavators
- Hand pitting or hand augering where access is severely restricted, or the site is sensitive (e.g. graveyards)
- Dynamic window sampling
- Shelling augar
- Rotary boreholing through bedrock
- Non-invasive testing
- Soil testing and installation of monitoring wells for groundwater and ground gas (if necessary) can be undertaken concurrently with the investigation, thus saving time and money at a later date. We also offer a wide range of geotechnical services. More information can be found by clicking here
Chemical analysis of soil and water is undertaken by a MCERTS and UKAS accredited laboratory to ensure full quality of data.
