Environmental Management Solutions (EMS) undertook a Management Asbestos Survey at a Gloucestershire Nursing home earlier this month.
The report was commissioned by the Nursing Home to address the potential risk of asbestos containing materials (ACMs) within the property as part of the client’s commitment to the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 (CAR2012).
The scope of the survey included a management level survey within a live nursing home, utilising standard access equipment.
The survey identified asbestos containing materials (ACM) within the boiler room and external areas. Notably the thermal insulation debris within the boiler room scored a high potential for fibre release and required remedial action.
The external render that was identified as asbestos and presumed cement undercloaking was deemed suitable to remain in service and be managed with regular inspections. The home were made aware that it is important to review the recommendations to ensure the integrity of all materials is maintained and monitored.
