EMS recently undertook a contamination land investigation at a small site in Herefordshire. The conversion of a former oast house to a single residential dwelling was proposed and a soil contamination clause had been placed on the planning conditions. EMS negotiated a reduced scope of works addressing the Contaminated Land Officer’s concerns but keeping costs to an absolute minimum.
Intrusive investigation of the site was undertaken using hand dug trial pits (excavated by EMS’s Geo-Environmental Engineer) and soil samples were sent to a UKAS and MCERTS accredited laboratory for analysis. On completion of testing EMS were pleased to report to the client that the site is uncontaminated.
After issue of our report the client was kind enough to fill in our customer feedback questionnaire (part of our ISO 9001 quality assurance system) and commented:
“I am really delighted with EMS. The survey was arranged quickly, done on time, the results came quickly, and the cost was reasonable.”
