As of the 1^{st of} September 2021, EMS are pleased to announce our formal accreditation to ISO17025 for bulk analysis at our Hereford office, in addition to our existing ISO17020 accreditation. EMS have worked hard behind the scenes throughout the previous twelve months integrating Cardiff based air testing consultancy NG Associates, which was acquired by EMS in August 2020. EMS are now also able to offer ISO17025 accreditation for air testing administered from our Cardiff office address. We now offer this service nationally.

The formal transfer of accreditation to EMS has taken most of the previous 12 months and required involvement from accrediting body UKAS and inspection of both Cardiff and Hereford premises.

EMS, established in 2003, specialise in asbestos surveying, consultancy & management and have held accreditation to ISO17020 since 2008. The addition of ISO17025 accreditation allows us to complement this already established service to provide asbestos analytical services for our clients and accredited in-house asbestos testing laboratories in both Hereford and Cardiff. The Hereford asbestos testing laboratory is one of very few in Herefordshire and allows clients confidence in our ability to turn around urgent samples and the option for clients to drop in samples for analysis in Hereford.

In addition, our new air testing capabilities will allow us to serve a larger range of clients, many of whom we have not worked for before. The addition of ISO17025 services has already allowed EMS to successfully tender for a range of projects and contracts throughout 2021 and included winning a four-year contract with a large South Wales Housing Association for air testing.

Established in 2003, EMS have grown from a in a portacabin in a Herefordshire farmyard, to a multi-departmental, international, environmental consultancy with our staff based across the two counties and throughout the UK. Supported by four office bases, EMS provide a comprehensive, nationwide service for our clients. Accreditation to ISO17025 and ISO17020 is part of our ongoing commitment to creating a start to finish service for our clients, through all stages of management, remediation and ongoing assurance.

EMS already have an established high-profile client base across the public and private sector throughout the UK and Ireland and have won a number of new contracts throughout 2021, including a place on Fusion 21’s National Building Safety and Compliance Framework. During 2021 we also secured a place on the CHIC framework for asbestos auditing and management services.

In addition to our established asbestos consultancy services, EMS also provide specialist Geo-Technical and Geo-Environmental services throughout the West Midlands with EMS Geotech. Our Legionella department EMS Water (established 2018) provides comprehensive Legionella Management Services and has seen considerable growth throughout the previous three years.
