Recently we’ve been carrying out asbestos surveys on properties in Pembrokeshire and Essex that are being filmed for Channel 4’s TV series The Restoration Man. Unfortunately we are yet to meet George Clarke, the presenter of the programme; however we are still very excited to see what becomes of these derelict buildings with an abundance of potential.
It also shows some of the work that goes on behind the scenes to ensure everyone’s safety on site; it is very important that the correct level of survey is undertaken and any asbestos present is identified and dealt with in the correct manner. If this wasn’t the case it could not only affect the builders and TV crews but these properties are most likely becoming family homes and so asbestos could potentially have very negative effects on the family moving into the building.
It will be very interesting to see these locations transform when the episodes air, but until then we can rest assured knowing that all those on the site will remain safe from the dangers of asbestos.
