Environmental Management Solutions specialise in Geo-technical and contaminated land investigations.
One of our expert geo-technical engineers recently undertook a Phase One Desk Study investigation at a site in Worcestershire. The site was thought to be greenfield in nature but information provided by local residents, and backed up by landscape features and published geological mapping, indicated that the site was previously used for small scale sandstone quarrying.
EMS has recommended a scope of intrusive works which would prove whether or not quarrying had occurred at the site and give valuable information on ground conditions for foundation design and on the contamination status of the site. This investigation should serve to add value to the site when it comes to be sold to housing developers.
